I am very careful about whose photography I would give up an organ for: Thomas Struth, Richard Misrach. Maybe Jenny Holzer and Marilyn Minter. Giving up a limb, however, is a consideration on a whole other level. There is only one artist that would get an arm or a leg from me: Andreas Gursky.
Whenever I travel, I think about the scene in front of me as an Andreas Gursky. Filmmaker Ben Lewis does the same. He takes a bizarre journey where the adventure documents how it's Gursky's World and we're all living in it. His adventure takes him from Reading to Dusseldorf. When he meets finally his hero, he gains a fuller understanding of what it means to live in a 'Gursky World'.
