I'm admittedly a little late to this one but I just found ArtInfo.com on Foursquare and they've done a good job. When you check in with Art Info on Foursquare you unlock New York's art world. You'll discover the city's top art galleries, the coolest artist hangouts and more. Love the continued incorporations of digital into the art world.
